Middle East Port Logistics Project Upgrades Equipment, Improving Container Handling Efficiency by 50% with Electric Forklifts
As the global port logistics industry continues moving toward greener and smarter operations, more ports and logistics parks are replacing traditional fuel-powered forklifts with new-energy handling equipment. Recently, a large port logistics project in the Middle East completed an internal equipment upgrade. By introducing lithium electric forklifts and intelligent logistics systems, the project improved overall container handling efficiency by approximately 50% while effectively reducing operating costs and maintenance pressure.
According to reports, the overall solution for this project was provided by Shandong Kaiyite Machinery Co., Ltd., including lithium electric forklifts, electric towing equipment, and intelligent charging systems.
The project is mainly responsible for internal container transfer, warehouse handling, and cargo loading operations within the port area. In recent years, as regional trade volume continued to expand, cargo throughput increased significantly, resulting in greater demand for internal logistics handling.
Under intensive operating conditions, traditional diesel forklifts gradually exposed problems such as high energy consumption, high maintenance costs, and insufficient stability during long continuous operations.
Because the port environment is relatively complex, equipment is required to operate continuously for long periods. However, the failure rate of traditional fuel-powered equipment gradually increased, leading to reduced operational efficiency in certain areas.
After multiple rounds of equipment testing and solution evaluations, the project ultimately selected lithium electric forklifts as the core equipment for the logistics upgrade.
The project deployed multiple large-capacity lithium electric forklifts and intelligent charging systems for cargo transportation, container transfer, and warehouse loading operations within the port area.
Compared with traditional diesel forklifts, lithium equipment demonstrated clear advantages in several aspects.
First, the forklifts use high-performance lithium battery systems that support fast charging and long continuous operation, effectively meeting the requirements of 24-hour port operations.
Second, the equipment operates with lower noise and zero exhaust emissions, aligning more closely with the development direction of green port logistics.
At the same time, the electric forklifts offer superior maneuverability and maintain stable operating efficiency even in complex port environments.
According to reports, the entire project took only about six weeks from requirement confirmation to official operation.
After the project began, the technical team conducted a detailed analysis of internal logistics routes, cargo types, and operating frequency within the port before optimizing equipment selection and overall solutions.
Afterward, all equipment completed strict testing and quality inspections before being delivered through international transportation.
After the equipment arrived on site, the technical team provided commissioning and operational guidance through a combination of on-site training and remote technical support, helping the project quickly enter operation.
After the new equipment was put into operation, internal port logistics efficiency improved significantly.
The customer representative commented:“The new lithium electric forklift system operates very reliably and performs excellently during continuous operations. It significantly improved port logistics handling efficiency while effectively reducing long-term operating costs.”
Industry experts believe that as the global port and logistics industry continues promoting green and low-carbon transformation, new-energy handling equipment is becoming an important direction for future port development.
Compared with traditional fuel-powered equipment, lithium electric forklifts provide significant advantages in environmental protection, energy consumption, maintenance costs, and intelligent management, especially for port logistics, warehouse centers, and high-frequency handling scenarios.
In the future, Shandong Kaiyite Machinery Co., Ltd. will keep supplying global customers with electric forklifts, LPG forklifts, diesel forklifts, electric stackers and aerial work platforms, and will continue to support the global logistics industry in pursuing more efficient, greener and smarter development.
